My name is Valentine Okoronkwo, and I didn’t start PassiveSecrets because I wanted to be an entrepreneur.
I started because I didn’t want to be trapped.
In my final year at university, my dad made something very clear: once I graduated, I would be on my own financially. No safety net. No monthly support. Just reality.
One evening, sitting on the lower bunk of my hostel bed, scrolling through social media, I saw someone claim they were making a full-time income online through affiliate marketing.
That moment changed everything.
Not because of the money alone, but because of what it represented: freedom. Location freedom. Time freedom. The idea that your income didn’t have to be tied to where you lived or who you worked for. From that day on, I started searching relentlessly for legitimate ways to build income online.
Life Before PassiveSecrets
Before PassiveSecrets, life felt heavy.
I didn’t have a clear purpose. I was broke. I was exhausted. And I was stuck in survival mode. During my national youth service year, I earned roughly $50 a month teaching in a secondary school. I lived in a one-room apartment inside an army barracks, shared with a colleague.

When a disagreement got me kicked out, things became even harder.
I moved in with my uncle, who lived far from my place of work. Daily transport costs drained the little savings I had. Some days, I could afford only one meal. Other days, none at all.
Eventually, I found a small room back in the barracks. It had a hole in the roof. No bathroom. No toilet. I slept under a mosquito net and bathed outside. Bread and sachet water became regular meals.
It wasn’t motivational. It was humbling.
At that point, my goal was simple: if I could just make $50 a month online, I could leave that job and reclaim some dignity.
That’s when I started writing.
The Birth of PassiveSecrets
PassiveSecrets began as documentation.
I wrote to understand what I was learning. I wrote to test ideas. I wrote to escape confusion. I wrote because writing was leverage. One article could live online forever. One insight could help someone avoid months of wasted effort.
After my service year in late 2018, I moved in with my uncle and began trekking daily to my sister’s house just to access electricity and get some work done. Around that time, I doubled down. I wrote consistently. I shared what I learned on Facebook. I focused on funnels, systems, and assets that could work without me being present.
In December 2018, something happened.
I earned my first meaningful online commission.
It wasn’t a public celebration. I didn’t tell anyone. But it was proof. And proof changes everything.
When It Became Real
In early 2019, family pressure pushed me into a contract banking job. I stopped actively working on my online business. Yet, while sitting behind a desk, something unexpected happened: the content I had already published started ranking. Traffic grew. Income came in quietly.
That was the moment it clicked.
Not hustle. Not motivation. Systems.
I realized that when built correctly, funnels, content, and automation don’t care if you show up every day. They work because they are designed to.
That understanding changed my life.

I eventually left the bank job. I worked from home. I rented my own place. I read obsessively. I studied sales psychology, persuasion, copywriting, and funnel strategy.
Over time, those systems funded my life, my learning, and later, international travel. They allowed me to live on my terms and eventually become a father.
My Background & How I Think
My background is in engineering. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and I’ve worked across education, banking infrastructure, sales, and technical roles. That background shaped how I approach online business.
I don’t see funnels as “pages.”
I see them as systems.
I don’t chase tactics.
I look for structure.
Engineering taught me that if a system fails, it’s rarely because of effort. It fails because something fundamental wasn’t designed correctly. I apply that same thinking to funnels, automation, and digital marketing.
What I Believe (And What Most Get Wrong)
Most people misunderstand online business.
They think success comes from tools alone. Or tactics. Or shortcuts. In reality, tools amplify clarity. Funnels don’t replace thinking. They reward it.
A sales funnel is not a page. It’s a sequence. A value ladder is not upsells. It’s trust over time. Sustainable income doesn’t come from hype. It comes from alignment between message, market, and offer.
I believe in building assets, not chasing attention. I believe in testing before teaching. I believe in boring consistency over flashy launches. And I believe that most people don’t fail because they lack intelligence, but because they lack structure.
Training, Experience & Work in the Industry
Over the past seven years, I’ve focused almost exclusively on funnels, automation, and search-driven systems.
I’ve studied and implemented:
I don’t just consume training. I build with it. I test tools in real environments. I document what works and discard what doesn’t.
Over time, this approach led to consistent online income, industry recognition, and the ability to work independently of location or schedule. Along the way, I earned an affiliate award within the GoHighLevel ecosystem and crossed several milestones that quietly confirmed the systems were working.
Why I Do This
I feel most connected to people who want to truly understand sales funnels. Not just “what tool to use,” but why something works. People who are tired of guessing. People who want systems that compound.
I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, underpaid, and uncertain. That’s why PassiveSecrets exists: to shorten the learning curve, remove noise, and show what actually works in practice.

Where This Is Going
PassiveSecrets is not about quick wins.
It’s about building durable systems that support your life, not consume it. My vision is to continue testing tools, breaking down strategies, and documenting real-world results so others can build with clarity and confidence.
If my work helps someone replace a job they hate, regain control of their time, or simply believe a different future is possible, then it’s doing its job.
If you’re here to learn, to build, and to do things properly, you’re in the right place.
You’ll find my latest products, services, and research throughout the site. Take what helps. Ignore what doesn’t. And build something that lasts.
